When I first toured the custom home built by Heartwood Construction in Carmichael, it did not seem like purchasing it was an attainable reality. I was hoping to get my boys into better schools, but was not entirely sold on the idea of relocating. But this house was, in my opinion, the crown jewel of Carmichael. I had not yet put my own home on the market. The La Colina house was at the outer limit of my qualifications, but it literally inspired me to immediately sell my home in Natomas in hopes of moving into this home or one like it.

I was fortunate enough to get a full price offer the first weekend, which allowed me to immediately put in a full price offer on 2844 La Colina Way. I had found a dream home and was not willing to dicker on price. The sellers accepted my offer over an unlucky fellow who decided to dicker over a few thousand dollars. I am grateful for his mistake… and that the sellers appreciated that I had recognized the work Heartwood Construction had put into this home.

I had an FHA loan and the appraisal and inspections passed with flying colors. The valuation by FHA came in well over the asking price. My home inspector earned his fee by scouring the house with every checklist and device he had… only to find one wobbly ceiling fan, which Heartwood REPLACED immediately. They did not fix the fan, they replaced it. The home inspector told me he had never seen a house with so little wrong!

Since then, my family and I have enjoyed the house tremendously. It was exactly what we needed at this point in our lives. A place to throw up some blinds and call home. The garage was finished to the envy of every gear-head buddy I have. The backyard was landscaped with impeccable taste with a shed painted to match the house, and orchard of trees, a patio, and a misting system. The house had central vacuum that the housekeeper loves. I still have people knocking on my front door to ask about the “dry-scape” riverbed that Heartwood designed in the front yard. I will always be proud to entertain family and friends in this home and thankful to Heartwood Construction for building my home.
